This was what went down in the latest hearing.
The high-stakes legal battle between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin continues to escalate, as both sides trade allegations over the management and future of NJZ (formerly known as NewJeans), one of K-Pop’s hottest groups. What began as a contractual dispute has evolved into a bitter feud, with each party accusing the other of betrayal, manipulation, and breach of trust.
In a new development revealed during a recent court hearing, HYBE claimed that Min Hee Jin had orchestrated the initial email of protest sent by the parents of the NJZ members. The email, which called for the termination of the group’s exclusive contract, was previously believed to be an independent expression of concern from the parents. However, HYBE now argues that Min directed ADOR’s deputy executives to draft the message on the parents’ behalf.
HYBE pointed to several details to support their claim: the inclusion of contract termination clauses in the email, the predetermined list of recipients, and the appearance of the phrase “it’s puzzling”—a term Min is known to use frequently. They also cited specific instructions allegedly given by Min, such as “send this to Danielle’s mom” and “revise this to sound like Hyein’s father.”
HYBE claimed that it was a clear act of betrayal, leading them to terminate their employment contract with Min Hee Jin, arguing that her removal was reasonable.
“These circumstances demonstrate clear contractual grounds for termination. There is no longer any trust between us and the defendant, Min Hee Jin.”
